Does anyone here make a living playing poker?

No but I'd like to. I made a grand total of $700 last year with a pretty low 1.41% ROI but I plan to get better. I have over 30K full tilt points for lots of t-shirts though,:roll:

I have a friend who does. He doesn't like to talk about it though. If he's winning, he doesn't want to jinx himself and if he isn't he just doesn't want to talk about it.

He says he plays for about 4 hours a day and can pay his bills with some left over. Not bad IMO. Now his GF is making him stop and get a real job though.

Online poker? I remember someone drew a chart with some sort of "ROI" for every account on one of the big online sites. There were a few very suspicious outliers. Basically the house isn't just taking their cut, they're stacking the deck as well.

All you have to do is go to http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/ for the major sites and theyll tell you your ROI for any peroid of type or game you wish to see. Honestly I'm an outstanding live player like make thousands per month but somethings up online. With no independent auditing and housed in BFE they could deal face up to employees of firm. Again I want to see profit from a AT member not ringers.

I was thinking he was making claims to cheater graphs being found on SS/OPR/etc.

Yeah, I phrased it wrong, it wasn't every account. But the graph I was thinking of was this one on some "2+2" poker site.

Point is, I don't trust a system with no transparency and precious little legal recourse.

I don't doubt that some people do make money, but I'm not a gambler, I prefer low-stress sure money to high-stress maybe money with the chance of getting ripped off by cheaters.
