Just curius - Altoght SCSI is good and fast - I think that for more then, say 3 periperials one adapter may not cut it...

It all depends on what your devices are and how much of the bandwidth of the SCSI bus they can chew up and if you're going to be using them simultaneously, etc.

I run 5 HDDs in a RAID 5 array off of a single controller with no problems at all.

we are running two 39160 SCSI controllers and one 19160 in one machine. This is externally connected to Medea Drives. Its fast and nice.

We had a 50 Pin SCSI card but chucked it when we ran out of space..by the way we have a 4 port NIC on that baby too.

I don't have "twin" SCSI adapters, but I am running an Adaptec 3940AUW and an Adaptec 39160 on my system. That's the equivalent of 4 SCSI Adapters.

I'm getting a Medea 50GB 4 drive Ultra2 and was wondering what RAID controller they use? I dont quite understand the Zone Stripe deal but I'm sure its fast anyway.

OK I looked at the data sheet and it says "integrated RAID controller" so I'm guessing BIOS options are limited. I'm also guessing the Zone Stripe Technology is some sort of optimization so it would figure they dont want you messing with the setup. I was hoping to be able to change the block size but either way I think its a good deal.
