Does anyone here in here have a Jeep, FJ oldschool, Early Bronco?

1971 Jeepster Commando

It's running on 33's w/ a 3" Body and 3" Shackle kit (soon to be replaced with lift springs)

It has a Chevy 305 under the hood. I am currently in the process of replacing the floor pans (which are almost rusted through) and the brake system. Future plans are a roll cage, and front axle upgrade.

Used to have a '81 CJ

Other than a custom rear bumper, 31x11.50 MT's, and a sound system not much. Even with that gutless 151 cu/in 4cyl it was a great off-road machine.

I had an 85 Bronco 2 that my Dad bought new in 85. riding that thing would cause spinal cord damage it was such a rough ride, but I miss her bad for some reason. My brother has her now.

I currently drive a 97' 4runner

FJ?!?!?
WTF?
Have they gone through the entire alphabet or what?

If I wanted a mid 90's model Cherokee with just the basic, factory features (no Dana 60's or anything extreme) what would it be called?

An FJ is a Toyota.

Cherokees are XJs, unless you mean the old full sized Cherokees, made in the 70s, those are SJs, and are based on the Wagoneer. The XJ was 1984-2001.

OK, cool.

I've been looking at Pirate4x4.com and a lot of guys are selling XJ's for cheap. Some of them are even Rubicon capable but thats way more than I need.
I just want something reliable and easy to fix up.

I think people are confusing Early Broncos from regular Broncos and ::shudder:: Bronco IIs. Completely different beasts.

Nearly bought my gf's old man's SWB FJ a few years ago.

I'm glad i didn't, something always needs fixing on it and it hates starting in the damp ;)

It will go anywhere tho, he still regularly uses it for towing and beach fishing, biggest roo bar on the front too :D

EDIT: the original diesel block has been replaced by a petrol 4L inline 6 as well, which is a bit of a turnoff for me...

Last year of the Bronco...my dad's vehicle we did together. Just got done putting in a MP3 player and the top Pioneer Coax's front and rear. Sounds good on the inside now too ;).

Very nice Bronco.

While growing up my parents had 1986, 1990, 1993, and 1995 Broncos. My dad held onto the 95' for a while as an extra car because it was just that damn great.

We have also had 2 jeeps, a 89 Wrangler which we sold, and our current 99 Wrangler w/31 inch tires (no lift).

MY first car was also a beast of an SUV, a 1989 Dodge Ramcharger. I sold that last year and now have a 1999 Expedition.
