Does anyone here exclusively use an online bank?

I was looking at ING's online accounts website for the first time yesterday and it does seem like a pretty good deal. You have to have an existing checking account at a B&M bank to open an account with them, but after that, you are free to close the account at the B&M bank. It seems to be a pretty good deal as long as there are enough ATMs in your area.

Has anyone here switched exclusively to online banking?

I have not. I've switched to using an online bank (Fidelity) primarily, but I still have a BofA account to make it easy to deposit personal checks and use ATMs. It works really well for me.

Sort of. I used an online brokerage account with check writing abilities for 5 years. I had to finally open an account of BoA when TD Ameritrade completed the merger last month and decided to no longer accept direct deposit.

I've never had any problems with my brokerage and it is the only one I could find that has 24 hour customer service.

If you're just starting out, look at Salem Five Direct or Schwab.

But yea, I use ING for everything, and just keep a no minimum B&M for other stuff.,

I use USAA exclusively. I move around too much for any local bank to be really worth it...

They make it easy by refunding other banks' ATM fees, allowing me to deposit checks using my scanner, and having fantastic customer service.

I've also used USAA for credit cards, car loans, car insurance, mortgage...even more convenient.

I exclusively use one bank, Hansa Bank for both their ATM, internet and credit card service. Mostly get everything done online and card payments and hardly ever use cash. The best part of their service is that they provide an ATM carrying van for large open air festivals in remote ares.

:)

Also, I get a 5.19% APR on my savings account and 0.5% cash back when using my debit card...

USAA here as well. Rocks the house. Customer service is MUCH BETTER than any B&M bank.
