does anyone here cut their own hair?

As the titles say, I'm tired of paying $15 every month to the barber that never gets my hair the exact way I have it. My hair is fairly medium length (3 inches longest at top), straight going down. What I'm wondering about is whether it's actually possible and we have anyone here who does that regularly and can give me some tips?

thanks,
Ed

Just get a trimmer and do touch ups every 3-4 days.
Then you wont have to worry about it getting too long or worry about focking up when it's grown out.

I let my brother cut my hair. If he focks up I tell him to just shave it all off.
It's only hair.

i just started going to a places call cuuties. it's like a hooters but for haircuts. short miniskirts, low tops, big screens, and a keg in the corner. Best thing is that I know all three of the girls from the regis salon i was going to previously. do it yourself haircuts end up looking like crap.

I do, but i have the generic asian spikey hair, so it's pretty easy. Either way, a tri fold mirror helps a WHOLE LOT!!

i do, whenever i need it cut, i start by shortening it up some with scissors (cuz my hair is pretty thick), then i just go over it with a beard trimmer at the longest setting until its all even, and i'll have my mom help a lil bit if its uneven in the back and i cant really tell. works great.

I use some electric clippers and a 1 inch guard to cut my hair (3/4 inch in the back).

It's easy, fast, free and I don't have to make small talk with some vapid hair stylist or grumpy barber.

all u need is a hand mirror and a 20 buck buzzer. Keep ure hand smooth when cutting and always start from the bottom up, even if ure cutting the middle part of ure head. never do little cuts just start from the bottom regardless. it keeps the "fade" look.

I used to buzz it myself, have for years, but someone I know is a barber so I let it grow out and had him cut it. I really like it, and I'll probably have him cut it every month for me (and its still free :0) ).

Clippers, #1 length.

Used to #2 length on top, and #1 on side and fade it in, but, was too much hassle and didn't really make much difference.

Agree w/ mirror suggestion. Having a medicine cab. w/ mirror is my rqmt. I can open/close door to see the back of my head and get that even.

I can't walk 15 feet without tripping over something and breaking my leg. I'm not putting scissors anywhere near my head.

THAT explains A LOT!

😉

I use a pair of a scissors. I run my fingers through my hair, grab a chunk of it, and cut everything above my knuckles.

You wind up with something like a caesar cut, like Maximus in Gladitor, when you put gel in it.
