Does anyone have any experience with one of these cases?

Lian-Li PC-V1000B
Silverstone Temjin SST-TJ05

Can you reccomend it?

Both look great and have great features...I posted a reply about the Silverstone that one reviewer had some significant quality control issues IMHO that he shrugged off to shipping...wires that made closing the front bezel a real issue and misaligned expansion slots in the back with 3 different mobos he tested...this was the model with the lcd...also he got a new one to review and everything was perfect from Sivlerstone...the problems he had were inexcusable for a case at this price

Also I really believe they sent him a hand picked one again

I will look for the link....

Actually, with a case around 30lbs. dropping it hard flat on the side do cause damage that is unseen from the packaing outside. Trust me, I know.

Plus, quality control or not, the chassis part of the TJ05 is made out of molds and tooling so if the alignment problem is really that bad, it would happen to all cases produced. There are at least another dozen reivews of TJ05 on the net that made no mentions of alignment problems.

I agree a 30lb case can get screwed in shipping but the expansion slots?? this is a part of the back panel how would shipping cause a small misalignment

I did not say thatthe quality overall was bad...but given the cost I expect more and I ma still reluctant to but everything on shipping....if I have to ship back a 30lb package it will cost $$$ and Silverstone wont pick up the tab...maybe they need to pack there cases better

with all that said I love that case and I am considering buying!

Hehe, you never know what those UPS guys can do to a package that heavy...

But yeah, the TJ05's packaging definitely needs improvement anyways. You probably don't have to worry about getting a Lian-Li V-series case damaged during transit. Their packaging are definitely better.

As for the cases themselves, I would be happy with either one. I myself like all aluminum case so I would lean more toward the Lian-Li, just wish they didn't look so much like G5 rip-offs!
