Does anyone have experience with global headers and footers?

I downloaded a mod that allows me to place whatever code I would like, the purpose is search engine optimization. Where could I get examples of this? This is for an SMF forum by the way

SMF is written in PHP.

Can you be a little more specific in what you are trying to accomplish with the header in terms of SEO?

Meta tags in the header in modern times do nothing for you in terms of SEO. If you really want to you can throw in some relevant keywords, but don't spend more than 5 minutes on it. Proper titles and clean urls with keywords are much more important.

This.

Actual content on pages means much more to search engines than anything else.
