Number of followers. That's it. However, no Christian will ever believe that simple truth.

Why do you turn to a cult for that? Try joining a new gym? Or find a new hangout in whatever it is you like to do. Try traveling a bit? There are many ways to meet new people without joining a cult.

i was raised mormon, stopped going when they shunned me for not going on a mission and telling everyone how great it was to be told what to think and constantly be guilt tripped and belittled by church leaders. i just wasn't comfortable telling people what to believe, i think it's a decision you should make by yourself.

In college, after many students took advantage of unlimited printing privileges in the computer labs, the IT department put into effect a quota system.

Using my authority as a User Assistant, I lead a small group of peers, collectively known as the Printer Bandits. We would hit up the computer labs in the middle of the night and print out hundreds of pages of lecture slides, notes, documents, etc., and distribute them to others.

And "general acceptance" comes from... wait for it... a large number of followers.

true

i was kinda meaning that it is then accepted in predominantly say Hindu/Buddhist communities as not a cult...'general acceptance by the other main religions'...which..comes from a large number of followers..

Are you prepared for it to take over your life? Because that's generally what happens, dictating to you how you should spend your time and money.

ATOT does that already, so I'm sure it can't be that bad.
