Thinking of recommending the Kin to my mom and brother. They're on a Verizon family plan with cheap phones they got years ago and are long overdue for an upgrade. They never felt like upgrading since their phones still work fine, and they don't want smartphones since they cost more per month.
But the Kin is cheap (the Kin One is free with contract renewal!), has wifi and a full keyboard, and doesn't require any data if you don't want it. I already told my brother about it and he seems interested, but if there are major issues with the Kins then I wouldn't want them to be stuck with phones they don't like.
Still, it seems if you're upgrading from a simple phone and not expecting smartphone-like features, it's a good and cheap option. Is that accurate?
