- 3/4ths to 1lb of ground beef (i actually use ground pork)
- one carton ricotta cheese (the smaller one, not the monstrous one.)
- mozarella cheese (use one regular sized bag)
- lasagna noodles (use the barilla ones, you do not need the cook them beforehand.) you can get one box of them, and save the rest for later.
- one jar of ragu (regular sized jar.) i use original.
you need a casserole sized pan. (9" x 13" i believe)
brown the meat in a frying pan. once it's browned, drain off any excess fat/oil. stir in the pasta sauce.
once those two are mixed and warm, spread one layer across the bottom of the pan. spread about half of the ricotta cheese on top of that. sprinkle mozzarella on top. place lasagna noodles on top (you should only need three per layer. do not let them overlap.)
repeat the two layers. any extra meat/sauce mixture spread on top. sprinkle cheese on top. i don't put the noodles on the bottom layer because it tends to burn (since it's dry.)
cover with aluminum foil, stick in oven at 375, bake for an hour. keep watching it so that it doesn't burn (check in after 30 mins, then each 10). should serve 8.
my memory is getting fuzzy on the layering, because it's been a while since i've made this and i can't find the site where i got the recipe. i have it bookmarked on my backup computer at home.
an even easier way to do this is to get premade ravioli with whatever filling you want, cook them, spread in the pan with sauce and cheese, and bake.
