Does anyone else wish they hadn't split this forum into "OT" and "Politics and News?"

There was more of a melding of the of the absurd with a little rational thought.

Seemed like the people in Politics and News were more prone to show a human side and more OTers were allowed to see people having an intelligent conversation(sometimes, 😉 ).

 
I think it should be kept this way.
The religious and political believes of strangers means absolutely nothing to me. It was becoming very difficult to ignore the homicidal ranting of those who use the flag as their avatars.

This way allows more neffage, when someone posts something that should be in politics, you get to say "this should be in politics n00b +1" 😛

I agree with you. There is a level of sharp wit and humor that is gone now with the addition of the other forum. Too bad it couldnt have stayed here and the threads be titled "YAPT" or something. If people dont want to participate in that type of thread, simply dont read them/respond.

I agree with this Squisher, but as you can see from the response it must have been profoundly offensive for the vast majority of the brain dead ATOT's to occasionally be confronted by intelligent thought on significant subject matter. How very un-TV. Why it used to turn my stomach to discover there were even people who could think. How dare they show me up. Let sleeping zombies lie, is the watchword of the day.

It's too bad they didn't create a congenital idiot forum so people with nothing to say could collect there in massive pools of drivel and return ATOT to some of its former relevance.
 
I'd rather have a car forum than politics. A car is a machine that gets you from point A to point B and I really don't like nor care about the look or price of them. Anyway, I'm a lot more interested in politics than cars.
 
Yeah, I gotta agree with you. The Politics and News forum is even more polarized than before (thats scary.) It's nothing more than bashing from both sides, and the occasional instance of intellectual contribution dissapeared. I like participating in those subjects but its nothign more than name calling pretty much right now. Same peoel psoting the same stuff over and over again.

No it just brings up flame. I like it this way.

Intelligent conversations are good but if it's politics, you are bound to get stuff that's not "rational thought" and name calling. I went to check politics the other day, arggh smells ike fireworks in there.

Intelligent discussions don't have to be about politics, how about science ?

Your right, but there was a melting pot dynamic before.

I feel there are too many people spending their time in one forum or the other and the people in the other forum don't get much of a chance to experience those other people each of them having their own worthwhile qualities.
