I've been seeing them around lately and man do they look good. I was wondering, has anyone drove one (or been in one) and know how it performs? I'd be interested to see how it stacks up to the BMW 3's and the Audi a4's...

Late last year when the new C Class debuted, we were invited by our local mercedes dealership to come down to a cheese n cracker event to check out the new model. My dad got a chance to take one for a quick spin around the auto mall and he really enjoyed it. In comparison to the 3 series BMW, the BMW's always seem to feel a bit more sporty, a younger mans type of car, where as the C class is more refined etc.. hard to say.

They do look good. They are like a mini "s" class :)

If someone would give me a mercedes, I would sell it. I'd buy a cheaper Honda Accord and use the rest for something better.

I would do the same thing except I would get a VW instead of a Honda. I would use the extra money from selling the Mercedes to pay off bills.

my dad had one, i used to use it quite a bit...
only qualm i had was that it lacks power (i'm a more turbo person) and the C class just doesn't pick up too well. well then again he had a smaller engine, they come pretty large too.
handles AMAZING, its very very smooth, cruises and begs for speed, and handles at those speeds too. fantastic car.
in terms of luxury, BMW3 is a joke... in terms of sportiness and pick up and young person appeal, go for BMW3.

the C is alright. miniature version of the S. But I just don't see the point of getting a small Mercedes...

btw, When will I be able to feast my eyes on a real life SLR? :)

my damn rich bastard friend has one... haha j/k , he's cool, i've sat in it multiple times and i must say Mercedes really knows how to make you feel like your in a refined luxury vehicle, layout and interior is very high quality and from what i can tell from passenger side the drive feels nice, maybe just a tad soft on the suspension,... but then again it IS luxury minded...

I am seriously considering the C240-C320 for my next car. I have not investigated much beyond the website but great service means the more to me over performance. I enjoy German cars and prefer FWD over RWD so the Mercedes C class seems right.

I really like the C Coupe that's coming out later this year with the "panorama sunroof" (almost the whole roof is glass). I went to the dealership to see if they had info on it, and they said that they already have a 6 month waiting list from the day they come out. :|

I thought the only FWD merc is the A-class, while everything is still RWD.

I don't know about other dealers, but the service in Mercedes dealerships we have in Houston SUCKS. My dad has an E class and everytime he had something done on the car, he would complain about the Mercedes dealership and praise the Lexus dealership (we used to have a ES300, and now a RX). If you're going after service, go with a Lexus. I think JD Powers rated them #1 for a few years in a row now.

the 3 series will always be the car by which the others are judged
