Does anyone else think that turtlenecks are the most ridiculous piece of clothing?

i cant stand those things :|
was looking for some clothes earlier and came across some and they just drive me nuts. makes you look like a walking penis with that thing up around your neck. it's just such a laughably bad design. i just cant understand them. women? yeah that's ok i guess, but not a good look for a man. and a mock turtleneck? what the hell is up with that?

The first and third pictures are pretty bad, yea. But if you get nice ribbed ones they can look really good

Yeah, I really don't like turtle-necks either, especially the cotton ones, and the trendy Abercrombie type. I did however find one turtleneck sweater about 2 years ago that I really like, it's kinda like the one that denis leary was wearing a lot a few years back.

I think turtlenecks look cool. I got a couple for my bday couple of months back and the thing i hate about them is that they're so thick that I feel like i'm wearing a neck brace. But look wise, I think they look good

Calm down dude. Its just an article of clothing. I find people who wear there pants at their ankles much more offensive then a shirt that covers up the neck.

Didn' t Elaine on Seinfeld refer to an "uncut" man as a regular one wearing a turtleneck?:Q

think its just you..

No, it's not just him. I definitely find them one of the more ridicuolous articles of clothing. I wouldn't base a rant on it however. It's just clothes.

When you live where it gets to be 20 below zero, a turtle neck comes in handy. You can fold the turtle neck up over your mouth if you don't have a neck warmer.

I pretty much only wear them when I ski, or when I'm going to be outside in very cold weather.

When I grew up in California, I always wondered when I saw pictures of people in the upper midwest and north east why they looked so dorky in all those thrown together clothes. Now I know why. You'll wear ANYTHING to keep warm. It's freakin' COLD up here.

Well, I know it's all about taste, but personally, I think a scarf looks 10x better than a turtleneck.

I live in Michigan, so I know cold weather just as well as the next guy.

I think it depends on the one who is wearing it. A stickly fellow wouldn't look too great in one...

Scarfs are great, but easy to lose. And scarfs are worthless when you ski :p

dude, why are you shopping at places with michael jackson as the model, fuzzy men's clothing, and business logos. Goto Gap or BR or something and find your self some clothes there.

I work outside and when the winter wind is blowing a wind chill of -38, it's pretty nice to be wearing a turtle neck.
Of course the rest of me, being naked, turns blue.

Personally, I find them very uncomfortable and awful looking on men....but I don't hate them as much as I hate Capris pants.... WTF is with them! I don't want to see some 40 year old mom wearing pants that look like they are 10 inches too short! If you want to wear long pants, wear long pants! Shorts? Wear shorts! Personally, I think we should all just go nekked....

My ex-mother-in-law always said that only gay men wear them. I don't own one and NEVER will. They are ugly and uncomfortable.
