Does anyone else think "Close to Home" isn't funny?

Someone got me a "Close to Home" desktop calendar for Christmas. I think it is just like "The Far Side", only without the wit, humor, originality, intelligence, and (believe it or not) artistic qualities. The person who got me the calendar apparently thinks it is the funniest thing ever.

I don't read it at all but based on that comic, I'd have to agree with you...

[Edit] Alright, just clicked through the past couple weeks and now I definitely agree with you...

Yeah, it's very rare that I find a Close to Home strip that actually makes me laugh. Far Side just should not be immitated.

I think they can be moderately funny, but nowhere near the caliber of Far Side, which had a good dose of black humor to keep it unique.

I liked it when it was in my local paper a few years ago, but reading those last few from that link made me realize that it's pretty bad now.
