This happened to me today and I've always wanted to know if anyone else gets this. Everyone I ever ask seems to have no clue what I'm talking about, but maybe one of you do. Here we go:

Whenever I go into a new place thats strange or old I get this weird feeling. Its like, my eyes are trying to change focus and I'm a little dizzy. Kind of like sniffing a marker really quick, that type of buzz you get when you first inhale or something. Only lasts for a second, sometimes reoccurs immediatley and then quits. Like I said, it only happens in weird places. Like antique malls, old houses, or places that are just .. I don't know I can't really explain. For instance, today it happened when I walked into this small shed at my school. The rest of my school is really fancy and nice and something about this cluttered garage outside of my school triggered it off. Its like I can't focus on anything. Argh, no use trying to explain it any further, I guess if any of you know what I'm talking about you've already recognized it by now. ANYONE?

(Maybe its some uber-cool 6th sense :))

I think I know what you're talking about, though for me it usually happens when I walk into a place I've seen but not for a long time. it's not deja vu, I would say it's a rush of sensations that used to be familiar.

Okay, now that I've thought about it, I'll clarify that I do experience what you're talking about - I had to think back to high school to think about it, but it's there. My senior year I got to see a lot of areas that previously had been restricted (got to fix computers in the shop, in the teacher's lounge, etc.), and I often got that weird feeling when going into those types of places.

Ah, that sounds almost correct. Perhaps thats the same thing as it is almost like Deja Vu.

I think what you're describing happens to me when I go to places that are bright with lots of lights like casinos or carnivals...

Yes! I have always wondered the same thing. I know exactly what you're talking about. I think Orsorum described it the best...I get the feeling whenever I walk into something I haven't been in for a long time. For instance, the last time I remember it happening was when I walked into my old elementary school classroom. It is like a quick jitter in your eyes, and like you said its hard to focus for a second. I really can't explain the feeling, but I know exactly what you're talking about. Glad to know I'm not the only one!
