Prodigy , you'r right. The democrats have finally run the great economy they were given into the ground just as Pres. Bush will be taking it over. The slowdown started at least 6 months ago and is just now really becoming apparent. Somehow they will spin it and blame it on the President Bush.

The democrats are so bitter that some will hurt the nation rather then work for the good of all. Shame.

Hopefully there are enough moderates to get some good things done.

Gore always sounded like a TV preacher to me. I never did trust them, always wanting your money. Come to think of it, so did Gore.

Red, "Gore lost" would not have to be repeated if some of the democrats would quit acting like the election is still going on.

<< Unfortunately you have never been right as far as I can tell. >>

At least you recognize your limitations. Thats got to be worth something.

Whenever I look at Bush's face on TV it seems that he is thinking; "I can't believe this people are falling for what I'm saying".

He always seems apollogetic. Maybe he will repent one day and tell us the truth....

I like Gore because he doesn't beat about the bush...
Ah ah aaaaaaaaaaah !!! 🙂🙂🙂
I'm stupid and my puns are even more stupid, I know !

<< I know I'll probably get some flaming for this but I think he's a lot like Reagan was.>>

Wow, that's the best compliment I've heard from a liberal yet! If he truly is like Ray-gun, praise the Lord for getting the right guy in there.

All this sour grapes and whining about Bush won't change a thing. He'll make a good president - despite the best attempts by his opponents. I lived in Texas when he booted Comrade Richards from the Governor's seat there. Same bunch of liberal whiners there, complaining about how he'd stumble and was to dumb blah blah blah. And a few years later, he gets endorced by most democrats in his state (which should tell you something) and wins re-election in a landslide. Just sit back and watch.....

<America has been divided as a result of this chaotic election, and this is the first time since modern industrialisation that a president has been elected without winning the popular vote>

This is not the first time that the president was not elected by the popular vote and Amreica is divided because Gore wasnt man enough to concede when he lost the first, no second, no third no....he didnt know when to quit.

Jesus, if you're going to critisize someone for being a "feable [sic] puppet", at least consult Webster's before doing so. It rather gives the appearance of "feableness".

skywhr:

it's the first time it's happened in 112 years.....do you think people lived very 'modern' and 'industrialized' back in 1888? 😛

Americans are so damn STUPID.

You elect presidents like you watching the Superbowl!

"WE WIN, YOU LOSE!"

"Sore losers!"

"Gore wasn't man enought...!"

"Bush is a puppet...!"

Win, win, win! Vanquish the loser. Banish them. Yea, we win!
And you all scratch your heads and wonder why there's gridlock. I know, we didn't finish the job. Vanquish the survivors. Silence the opposition.

Me... I prefer governments and political parties that create coalitions.

As for you, Red, just what did you win? And what did Bush win, a government and country split. And like a jury instructed to disregard a statement, all Americans know in the back of their minds Bush won with a voter endorsement not by the majority of votes cast. Bush, himself, must have turned this thought over in his mind and it must privately haunt him behind his smile if he's the thoughtful man many would have us believe.

The real winner? And this will get many a Republican's goat, was Clinton.

If any of you entertained the thought of Clinton being prosecuted, forget it!
The last thing the Republicans want to do now is appear anything but gracious and supporting a period of mending. The Republicans won, the nation needs healing, and Clinton is as free as a bird.

bupkus,

All of us are damn stupid, eh? Nah. I'd say we're just far too vocal during election cycles and not nearly vocal enough during the off-season.

Also keep in mind the folks here represent the extreme ends of partisan insanity. There are citizens and politicians who can and do work together. Not surprisingly, most of these guys are independents or members of third-parties.

Americans are highly competitive by nature. Cooperation happens simply by cooincidence. 🙂

Nice points, tagej. These guys seem unable to swallow the fact that Bush was a success in Texas, and will be a success in Washington, D.C.

? You mean he won't come across as a weak and confused individual like he did during the whole the campaign?

Only to the ones so blinded by their partinship and disapoinment that their candidate lost that they cannot give the man a chance. They will keep spouting the same lines that they babbled during the election with the same lack of facts and proof to back any of it up.
I'm sad to say, that some, with out the intelligence to do their own research, will parrot those lines.

I just heard George W. making a statement on tonights news.
I was so embarrassed. It reminded me of a time in high school when I wasn't prepared for class and I had to get up infront of the class and wing it.

What will we tell our children when they ask what the President is saying?

Look, the election is over and he's our president, but man... he's such an idiot! It was like listening to someone in a 12 step program, "I feel that...
I feel uhhhhhhhh... uhhhhhhh..."

Next time you hear him, PLEASE, even if your're Republican, just count how many times he refers to his feelings.

In time even Republicans will come to see that shoving a 'Bush thumb' in Clintons' supporters eyes does not make a president. It was a good joke on the Democrats, but the party is over and the clown ain't goin' home.

How very sad to see that Americans will revel in delight in seeing harm come to the United States in their misguided quest to prove their rhetoric correct.

I pray that the Congress has wiser men then what I see here.

The next 4 years wont be so bad.
Its the long lasting effects of the terrible policy that is going to be passed in the next 4 years.
And probably some appointments to the supreme court.
That should just about fsck the whole liberal govt. thing for about 40 years.
CHEERS to the republicans.
Pulled some shady dealings in florida.
But, money and connections get you anything 😉

Bupkus:

Well said. The clown may not be going home, but we can keep him from doing too much damage by making sure our Congressmen hear from us about the Supreme Court's selection of the President and the many other issues facing the country. I've already penned a note to Senator Elect Nelson. I'd suggest that everyone else do likewise, unless you're a Republican. 😛

My "Impeach Bush" and "Impeach Scalia" stickers should be in any day now. 😛

This is going to be fun.

Impeach Scalia? Like his opinions or not, he is probably one of the most lucid and intelligent scholars of the law that are currently alive. He is arguably one of the best lawyers (is that an oxymoron?) alive today, and could without question be compared favorably with other notable luminaries in the field, such as Lawrence Tribe or Robert Bork (neither of which have enjoyed the priviledge and honor of serving on the Supreme Court).

I'd be willing to wager a sizable sum that Scalia will be named the next Chief Justice, when time comes to make that appointment.

Well, the same legal scholars who thought the Supreme Court would not be so foolish as to take the Bush v. Gore case are saying otherwise.

For what it's worth.

I've already given Senator Elect Nelson my views on Scalia. Conveying one's view here may be cathartic, but will not change a single vote in the Senate.

Red, that is your opinion.

Opinion
A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof.

What I think is sad is that many will not give him a chance and will be "revel" even when good bills do not get passed, America is harmed, and all because of your opinions.

The real harm would come from the extremists of either side being in power. Pres. Elect Bush is not an extremist. Gore with his liberal agenda would of done much more harm IMHOpinion.
