I prefer 7-4 if possible. Move forward an hour or two and I spend twice the amount of time in traffic.
2 of the guys at my work are like this. One guy sometimes is there at 6am and he leaves at 3. It's unbelievable that he can do such a thing, but he's a pretty sharp guy and he does good work.

When I still drove to work, I would often get to work at 7:30. Leaving my house early made a huge difference in travel time and frustration for the rest of the day.

I have trouble falling asleep every night. I also have trouble waking up every morning.

7am is MUCH worse than 9am.

Ideally I would start around noon, but that's not an option for me.

I'm useless between 5:30 AM and 10:00 AM. My work hours are theoretically 7:30 - 16:00.... which is completely stupid. If it were 10:00 to 18:00, I'd be *much* more productive.
How are your hours theoretically a certain range? Are you guessing your hours of operation?

No, I'm not guessing.

I said "theoretically" because, in theory, my regular hours are supposed to be 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. It's rare that I actually leave at 4:00 PM, and it's rare for me to not do work from home (at night) as well. I'm on call 24/7, and am called in fairly often, which screws up the regular hours even more.
