Does anyone else feel "leaky" if they don't reboot often?

Whenever I open and close a few programs and delete/create some files, I always feel like I need to reboot - like my machine is leaky/is losing resources - does anyone else feel like this?

I know that it's not true, and that my system w/XP pro is stable enough to stay up for days@ a time, but I dunno - I still restart each time I log off.

Anyone else?

Show us your 3l337 sk1llz Andrew 😉

Nope. I used to find Win 3.1/95/98 intolerable because I needed to reboot so often, whether I wanted to or not, but I've had Windows 2000 up for well over a month sometimes without any issues.

There was a time I didn't restart for 3 months...the coolest part was when my friends hovered over my nick in AIM

Obviously, if he gave a crap about Unix, he would have posted about Unix. Try to prove your dick size some other way.

In answer to your question, on my 98 machines, yes. On Win2K of XP, no. They don't begin to feel sluggish at all.

I don't use AIM (often anyway). What do you mean?

Uhh..? He didn't know what kill -9 ment, so I was gonna ask him if he knew what unix was before I wasted my time explaining what kill -9 ment.
Are you feeling ok tonight Russ? Do you really want to know my dick size?

Ok Hardcore...that comment wasnt needed. Go play with your Microsoft package slick!

Not since Windows 2K Came into play! On my 98 (gaming) system, I reboot every time I finish playing a game (only takes about 20 secs).

I can go about a week without noticing anything major...after that though, I can tell, but its not enough that I have to reboot. I usually do though because certain updates need it.

The only reason you posted anything about the kill command, which has nothing to do with Windows, is to try and show the world what a leet little geek you are because you use *nix. Whoopty friggin do. It's a thread crap.

Yeah, you got me all figured out Russ.
I am a l33t geek for sure because I run unix.

Jeez, why must everyone be out to prove something these days? I am just relating as best I can to the question asked, and since he didn't say windows only, I figured well, you know, I did register here, and I am allowed to post, so I might just do that.

I am terribly sorry if I have offended you Russ.

I use ME (go ahead... laugh) adn the PC runs 24/7. Never a problem.

I would like to thank quality hardware for the stability. I sure as hell wouldn't want a reason to thank Microsoft, but I'm not sure if this is an advantage of ME over 9X. I'll just consider myself lucky. 😉
