I hate seeing the engine like that 🙁

I'm pretty sure that there isn't really any problem, but I still don't like seeing it.

anyone else?

What's wrong with that? I don't worry until 5800rpm or 7500rpm, depending on which vehicle I'm driving. 😛

no, ive seen people run drive there cars at 5700 all the time, basically cuz there doin a buck 70 km, but thats another story lol

you're under 3 grand at 80 and complaining? unless of course you mean you'd rather be at like a buck fifty and six grand...

I wish I could be at a buck fifty..at all..heh.

Focus on the road, feel, don't think young padawan.......

Better yet it would be smarter if you just slowed down though, you clearly do not have Jedi like reflexes.

I usually don't even SHIFT until I hit 4K.

The RPM you mention is just about the optimal RPM for my car as far as the power band goes.

(did that make sense...?)

My RX7 is at 2800 @ 75, but rotaries like high RPM so I usually drive in 4th gear to keep it around 4000.
If you're just cruising on the highway there is no need to do this, you're just burning unnecessary gas.

Well, you could buy a different car if it bothers you that much.

My G6 hovers around 2300RPM when cruising at 80mph.

Buy a race car sim or driving game, much cheaper than paying tickets and zero chance of anyone getting hurt, does'nt matter how good of a driver you are, eventually you will get into a needless accident or worse.

Well if I remember correctly you and your dad have some car with a 6 speed.
80mph at 2800rpm for a 4cyl is good.

STFU. 😛

for reals! I'm in fifth gear at 3000rpm's doing 69mph 🙁 MPG drops off sharply after 3100 rpm so I rarely take my car over 3000, which also means I try to avoid highway driving (thankfully the only highway around here has a speed limit of 65mph 🙂)
