I'm considering buying an LCD monitor, probably 19 or 20" and some of them have composite and S-video inputs in addition to dvi. I was wondering if a console system like PS2/Xbox look pretty good? I'm asking because a 20" lcd with 1600x1200 native resolution is a lot different from a normal tv...

well be aware that to get the best out of the ps2 video signal will require u to spend abit on some kinda video box thing, running it thru a tv card may be fuzzy

plus...ps2 outputs a 480dpi image (640x480) and will look like sick on a 1600x1200 display

Ya it doesn't look too great through my tv card S-video on my 19" crt. Som LCDs even have tv tuners, so that got me wondering how it looks.

for the best picture, get a ViewSonic NexVision N6 (not sure on the exact name, but i know ViewSonic makes it and its called the N6) and a PS2 component out cable. of course, if it runs just fine thru the S-Vid input, just leave it like that, no sense spending 150 dollars on a fancy VGA box

Thanks for the N6 information; it seems to do some of what I'm looking for but with mixed reviews. I'm really just looking for an LCD with these particular specs.

The 2001FP has S-Video and composite inputs. I've ran my cube through the S-Video and it worked out quite well. Not perfect by any means, but much better than when I ran it through a VGA box I bought on ebay and hooked that up to my old CRT.
