Does anyone did the Zalman 9500 mod which allows you to use a 120mm fan instead of the one that came from factory? I found the instructions and ilustrations here;

I performed the mod myself using a zalman fan used on the 7700Cu model which has a red led, and it fitted exactly on the fan mounting brackets, but I had to bend and straight out the mounting brackets to make sure that it would align perfectly with the cooler and avoid any contact with the Heatsink, RAM or the PCB itself, this is what it looks;

Overall, the cooler is much silent, my temperatures dropped 4C in idle and 5C in load which is not bad.

Great, please share your results once you are done, this is the second time I do a mod with a zalman cooler, the first time I did a mod to fit the zalman 7700cu with my old Asus P4P800-E motherboard with the Asus CT-479 Pentium M mobile adapter, good times, good times.

Will do, I'm using a spare Noctua but I see Performance PC's finally have the elusive Nanoxia's. Might have to try that.
