Does anyone carry around a Blackberry AND an iPod Touch?

I'm debating buying the new iPhone outright for the ~$700 or whatever it will be.

The other option is keeping my Blackberry 9700 and buying the new iPod touch for ~$200. I already have a data plan, and could tether the iPod to my Blackberry to get internet anywhere (iBluever). The only annoyance here would be carrying around 2 devices.

Anyone have any experience carrying around 2 devices like this? It would save me $500 and I would get the better BB text experience (email/SMS).

Similar situation - I carried around an Android phone and a ZuneHD when I wanted to have music on me. It really wasn't too bad once you get used to carrying two things. Even though my WP7 does pretty much everything the ZuneHD does, I still carry it with me from time to time - its nice to not drain the battery on my phone all the time.

I miss the 160gb on my ipod classic but I cant see carrying 2 devices. I use my vibrant with a total of 48gbs of music and video but I wish we had higher capacity phones.

I have gotten used to carry two devices with me all the time. Nokia E-series and an iPod Touch, the same Nokia with a Blackberry, an Android phone with the Blackberry, etc. It's not a big deal.

I used to have a BB Curve and an iPod touch until I got my Droid. But it didn't help that I also had to carry another Blackberry for work, so I was actually carrying three devices during the day at work.

my favorite combo is cheap android phone and ipad. i have a HTC inspire on ATT. you can also get the mytouch 4g which is the same phone on the inside

i currently have a a verizon work android phone
my own android on at&t
and an ipad 2

I carry around a separate mp3 and iphone 4, but that's because I don't like Apple's mp3 players. No custom equalizer and generally pretty shoddy sound quality compared to the likes of Cowon and others.

Why not get an iphone 4 when the 5 comes out? It'll be quite a bit cheaper then it is now and if you're willing to stick with the features of the current ipod touch then the 4 will already have all of that plus more. The big drawback is sharing music space with apps is kind of a bummer. Plus I just am not impressed with my iphone 4 as an mp3 player in general.

Anyway... the draw I see with Apple devices is getting a pretty good all-in-one if you're not a picky music listener. If you're going to carry 2 devices anyway then having an ipod just doesn't make sense to me.

Ipod 4 touch and a cheap samsung Intensity II phone.

I would love to switch to an Iphone but I'm not sure how well the battery life would last with all the games I play on my touch. If they could get a full 24 hours of solid game playing in an Iphone battery I would switch immediately. As it is now I can't get more then an hour of playing gun broz on my touch.

iPhone would last quite about twice as long as iPod Touch since it does have a bigger battey.

That said, I tried out all of the different combos. Android phone with iPod Touch, Android phone with iPad, Nokia phone with iPod Touch, Nokia with iPad, and even iPhone with iPad, and I have to say... just an iPhone 4 works best.

Peace of mind since I don't have to worry about maintaining two different devices, external battery pack lasts me way longer than a week off cord on those travels, and I can keep all of my stuffs in one place. When I'm back, it's just a single plug into my Mac and done.

Score one of those external case batteries, they work pretty well.

OP, I have a 4th gen iPod Touch and a ThunderBolt, the iPod Touch is so small/thin I barely notice I have it, I've lost the damn thing many times...

i do the same, have my zuneHD in my truck but usually only use it when im working out in the wild without my laptop. i need to have battery on my phone for work, so i use the zHD instead. works so far.

I carry an ipod and a BB curve right now. I'm hoping that when WP7 finally gets out on Verizon someday I'll be able to find a phone with enough capacity to fill both roles but I'm not holding my breath either.

Droid X and ZuneHD for me. Prefer media handling of the zune over android and don't have to worry about the battery on my phone as much.

I don't, but I could see the advantages: conserving battery life and more "optimized" design (I'd like to think that at least).

I seriously considered doing something like that (a feature phone and an iPod Touch), and ended up just getting a Thunderbolt. It does everything I would've wanted done, plus more, with only one item to carry. Downside is the battery life sucks.

My main reasons for this are as follows:

(i) I don't like doing communications on a touchscreen (email, texting, etc)
(ii) I like that I could separate apps and stuff from my phone
(iii) Saves battery life on phone

I figured if I got a new slimmer wallet then I could save at least 7mm of space, which is the depth of the iPod Touch. So my pockets wouldn't really be any bulgier.

I think a lot of people who have to have Blackberries for work do this. It's even a running joke on the TIMN podcast.
