I watch the show, to me it's usually OK, just a little unrealistic in the non-violence of the leads: in several episodes they've beat up raiders, then left them alive to go and rape, murder, pillage other people -- not the best way to restore civilization! I do like the once-in-a-while episode that advances the main story arc.

A better version of this kind of story is David Brin's "The Postman" which is the collection of short stories quite a bit different from the bad Kevin Costner movie it inspired. And don't forget to play Fallout 1 & 2
