What do you mean? You can't take a small number of people here to gauge the success of Xbox Live. It's got an awful lot of subscribers and a lot of games coming out support it. It's still, in my mind, the key thing seperating it from the PS2 (Gaymecube is just a kiddy console so I don't compare it).

My, my aren't we touchy! Fact is Gaymecube is a kiddy console. Would I like to play Metroid? Sure, and yes I'm sure I could have fun with some pokemon if I'm babysitting my friend's 5 year old kid, but while one of the most popular games for the gaymecube have graphics like this and one of the most popular games for the PS2 have graphics like this I think it's pretty clear which console is geared more towards kids and which tries to gather more of the adult market.

Sure the gaymecube has some good games, but if you really think that it tries to target the adult audience as much as the xbox or ps2 you're smoking something illegal.

I can't think of a single "MUST HAVE" XBOX game that equates to Zelda or Metroid.

Here's a hint. It starts with an H and ends with an O.

Halo is overrated. I played it for about a month off and on. Beat it, haven't picked it up since. Xbox is nice, but Gamecube has much better exclusives.



As for Xbox Live... I have only connected once since December and that was to play Tallgeese in MechAssault. Unfortunately we chose a night when my gaming had to end early due to an irate ten month old.

Ehh, since when does cel shading mean it's for kids? Yes it probally appeals to them more, but that dosn't mean it's not for adults either. Nothing wrong with having some fun.

From what I have played between Xbox LIVE and PS2 online, I would have to say that the PS2 is overall more enjoyable, and better yet, free. Between SOCOM and ATV Offroad Fury 2, I'm set for hours!

For a moment there I though there was a chance you were about to make a cohesive argument for why the GameCube is for kids and therfore 'lame', but then you went off into that last paragraph and lost me.

Please note I wasn't crapping on your belove WHY-box, just calling you on your tired 'All games are sh!te if they aint got no blood or swearing an' sheet' attitude. Relax, your cut down PC with a midly mangled GF3 is really amazing, especially the size of it. And I like the way all the owners of teh WHY-box I know have gone right off it. It's lost it's momentem. Only today we had the 'Are you still using XBL?' thread. The overall answer? 'No, I'm bored of it'

Truth be told, there are a LOT of people playing Xbox Live at the moment. You can still find games of Mechassault or Ghost Recon at 3 am in the morning.

Why not compare it to the PS2 online? BECAUSE IT SUCKS?

And GTA:Vice City is the most overrated piece of sh!t to hit consoles in years. At least Halo raised the bar in its genre, whereas VC was nothing more than a rehash.

Uhh, it's common knowledge that the GC is graphically superior to the PS2. Not the XBOX, but quite literally all current consoles are powerful enough for any current game with appropriate modifications so graphics are unimportant. Games ARE and Nintendo has something to handily defeat anything the XBOX has. Also, I'd like to point out your "GC=kiddie" notions are preconcieved and stereotypical because there ARE NO POKEMON GAMES ON THE GAMECUBE. The only mention of Pokemon I know of so far on the GC is in Smash Bros. Melee and that mentions EVERYTHING Nintendo-related (The trophies section has hundreds of retro items).

So, compare Xbox live to a high end PC, broadband for cheap... you're still gonna need your PC, if you don't game and write in word at the same time that is, then you need two setups...

Say what you want, you cannot beat a PC as a gaming machine... you just can't.....
