Does anybody remember that idiot who said you had to be 18 to purchase vinegar?

First…wtf with the flour? And the anti-social behavior note at the bottom of that.

Second, yes he was. You’re trying to conflate something happening in New Zealand as being anything representative of typical US grocery store crap back in the early 2000’s? Really?

Third, I believe this was him:

So you can take anything he said or says with a load of salt.

i remember bans on buying eggs by youths the week before halloween/devils night....
In LA you can't buy ammo between Christmas and New Years....but that still makes more sense than eggs.

But nowdays eggs are so expensive "youths" may have to find new artillery.

I am not a fan of all sorts of restrictions. I would probably lose it if someone asked for my ID to sell me eggs or flower. Alcohol and ammo I kinda get...should be limited to adults.

"Losing it" because someone asks to see your ID for eggs/flour seems like it could be a bit of an overreaction. Do you have rage issues?

I can understand the reasoning. I would go further and ask for police clearance certificate under age 20. Plenty of retarded punks that wanna waste good food for the heck of it.

Hehe to be fair I probably wouldn't be too angry, though at the time I wrote that I was just waking up and a bit grumpy I think.

I suppose that considering my advanced years, once I got over my extreme confusion as to why exactly EGGS & FLOUR (wtf?) require ID to purchase, I'd be flattered they bothered asking!

They afraid that minors will engage in some illicit underage baking ?? :p

Perhaps our resident @WelshBloke can provide an insider's answer?
I'm guessing that's a Halloween or end of school thing and they've had a bit of problems with the yoofs chucking eggs and flour bombs rather than a crack down on illicit baking.
It'll be one of those voluntary things that village shops do for the greater good rather than it being a law.

Mind you that is North Wales, they are weird up there.

What part of Wales is Sir Tom Jones from?

Edit: where do Isle of Mann natives rank in terms of strangeness?
