I have this case here: http://www.raidmax.com/specs/smilodon.htm
The red LED that lights up one of the horizontal lines across the front of the case for the HDD indicator is dim compared to the 5 LEDs for the blue lights running across (including the one lighting up the same piece of plastic as the HDD indicator), so HD activity was just making that blue light more purplish.
So I disconnected the blue LEDs on the front. There is a cable that has a fan/drive power connector on one side and a 2 pin male connector (which goes to a normal indicator light connector) on the other that was used hooking up blue front LEDs.
I am thinking it would be cool to hook up the array of blue front LEDs as a HDD indicator, but the cable running from them isn't long enough to reach the connector on the motherboard.
Where would one buy an extender for that kind of cable? What is the connector type even called? I think its molex but when I search for that its mostly drive/fan power connectors.
