does anybody know why this memory is not good for running windows 2000 or windows xp?

Wow, I have no idead WTF they are talking about. I was aware of certain high-density modules not liking intel, but this is news to me.

Why would the ram work well with Win9X & not Win2k/xp this doesnt make any sece to me.:confused:

I say if the Chipset supports it then the OS will,just buy the ram if your chipset can handle it & then install the OS of your choice.

While I've never heard anything like that...it seems a bit like the cover-all disclaimer to me, but for $26, I guess you wouldn't be out much.

With the price for Crucial right now, I wouldn't put it in my rig.

My guess is that what they are selling is junk and they know it. Most people running Win95/98/Me would not get near to using the entire 512M and if these things are flakey, problems may not show up, whereas they would under W2K or XP.

If you go for it, make sure your mobo will support high density RAM - many do not.

I would suggest that it's a "We haven't tested it with Win2000/XP yet, so we'll say it doesn't work to cover our asses" type thing.

It will probably work fine, but if it doesn't, you can't bitch at them for it.
