Does anybody know a file archiver that doesn't require installation to be used?

Ordinarily I would bring an installed copy of WinRAR on my USB drive, but I don't have that with me and I don't have admin privileges.

Any ideas?

Uh, run that by me again?

Wobble, I don't have access to WinRAR?

There's also a command line version of WinRAR available. Unlike 7-zip, WinRAR is trialware whereas 7-zip is freeware.

the help file says that command line version of 7zip will decompress rar files

what do you mean command prompt is disabled? you can't find it on the start menu? or when you do start-run-cmd.exe it doesn't actually run?
sounds like a pretty locked down box, you better go eat some pizza and take a break

I believe the installer just extracts the files. PM me an e-mail address and I can send you the files it extracts. You can extract a ZIP archive I assume? (using XP?)
