Being greedy b@st@rds, I'd guess. They changed their rules about selling. If you want to use Paypal when you sell anything, then you have to have a Paypal business account and accept credit cards. Oh, and you have to give them a cut of every single Paypal transaction that you make, whether or not its Ebay-related or involves a credit card.

I used to sell on Ebay... as in, this morning... not anymore...

Oh please. eBay is still by and large the best way to sell total crap you have around your house and make a little extra cash.

Yes, it'd be hard to make a solid living off of eBay, but it's so much better than a stupid yardsale.

I disagree and hate the fees, but the world's better off w/ eBay + fees than no eBay at all.

There was a thread here a while ago. I heard about it maybe a week ago, not totally sure though.

I've reconsidered my position. I'll still sell on Ebay, I just won't take any Paypal payments. But I will take Google Wallet payments as soon as that system is available.

Also, they posted the announcement on the 15th, but it didn't get noticed by the media until the last couple days.

As a buyer, I would not use bidpay. The only time I got burn I used bidpay. Can't really get your money back if it is a scam.

Is this what you mean?

Use of PayPal on eBay
Notice Date: July 14, 2005
Effective Date: August 19, 2005
Beginning August 19, 2005, if you sell on eBay and offer PayPal, your PayPal account must accept all forms of payment including payments made via credit card, regardless of whether you display the PayPal logo with credit card icons. You must have a Premier or Business PayPal Account or be willing to upgrade from a Personal PayPal Account to a Premier or Business Account if you receive a credit card payment. You may not communicate to eBay buyers (e.g. via your eBay item description) that you only accept, or will not accept, specific forms of PayPal payment.

eBay emailed me that one or more terms in my auctions were violating their rules. Something about hidden text and such (I was selling some ram, I guess they didn't like the fact that in white 1pt text I put "jenna cindy asia sex amd intel athlon pentium", etc...)

The violating text: "non-CC paypal"

I used to be able to save $$$ by keeping 2 accounts; one for my verified personal and one for my premier business. I guess not anymore...

Hahaha!! keyword spamming!!! Someone who was loking for one of your hidden words got your auction in a search and reported you.
