My parents chose to give me a hyphenated name around the time The Carpenters and the english royal family were popular.
Couple that with a Japanese last name and I get some weird looks.
I don't mind mine, especially if it's being screamed by a g/f in the heat of passion..
But for the most part, the name "Steve" tends to be associated with the "village idiot" in most popular media. (I.e. the "Steve" is always the guy who messes up or is a nuisance in general..think those "Robbins Brothers" commercials..)
michael is pretty damn common. michael, mike, lee-bo, whatever, its good. except that whole first-middle-last your mom uses when shes mad. thats not good.
used to hate the way my name sounded....but now i love it....esp. b/c my name is unusual so it's interesting to see hoiw quickly/slowly people pick up the intonation of my name...
No, I am seriously thinking of changing my name. It is "Drew" but it seems so dumb
I want my name to be Sam or Felix or something. A lot of my peers call me by my last name, which is much better sounding to me anyway.
