Let's see, I shaved this morning at 8 and I'm already scruffy.

Am I shaving wrong?

Am I just too much man?

Has anybody tried the "beard slowing" shaving cream by Old Spice? (Or is it Adidas)

Are you shaving with a razor or with a mechanical one?

No. I'm a white guy and I only shave once a week, and even then I don't look scruffy ;)

Yes, I'm in your same boat. I even do a 3-step shave. First go over with electric, blade with grain, then blade against grain..... but at around 2ish, I'm scruffy again

I shave every 2 or 3 days... so no.

Get a sharper razor. I've found that going against the grain with just shaving cream has a tendency to scrap up my face. I need something greasier. I'll either shave my face before showering (I have oily skin, so the facial grease + shaving cream gives me an excellent shave) or I'll apply a light coating of mineral oil before putting on the shaving cream.

I get my 5 o'clock right at ... well, around five. It's fairly visible though, so if I'm heading out that night I need to "resurface" :p

I have a shadow around 8:00 PM... BTW, I'm asian so that might explain the 3 hour difference from 5 o'clock shadows.

Going against the grain does give razor burn, but it doesn't leave bumps. It takes off the bumps as well ^_^

If you're seeing razor burn going against the grain, one of three things is happening: your razor isn't sharp enough, you're using the wrong kind of shaving cream (or not enough), or the hair is too long to be shaving against the grain.

If you see razor burn going against the grain, try using a sensative-skin shaving cream, shaving with the grain with a sharp razor, then re-applying a small amount of shaving cream after going with the grain before shaving against it.

Oh, another thing. Use a lather brush. Not only does it look James-Bond suave doing it, but it helps stimulate the skin and extend the hairs outward. And of course, makes a nice lather. :)

Not necessarily. Estrogen and Testosterone kind of cancel eachother out, if you will. A friend of mine was growing a full beard in 6th grade and had to take estrogen pills so that his body would not develope so quickly. Why he *had* to take them, I have no idea. But it would have been weird to have a 7th grader with a beard bigger than his father's.

I usually massage my face for about 5 min or so with the Shaving cream.
