To day I was flipping through the channels and came to a channel named Aaj Tak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaj_Tak
(Hindi news channel)
and watched something about the Australia team and some suspension ...
and looking back to when the Pakistani team coach (?) was murdered and blames we shot towards gangs and gambling...

Any one else agree with me in thinking that the sport of Cricket http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket is one of the most corrupt sport of this time period

I know absolutely nothing about Cricket, other than what the players look like in their "uniforms" and it has a stick in the ground and a flat paddle like thing.

So...i have no idea, but i'll take your word for it.

I'd venture to guess that any sport heavily populated with second and third world nations would have issues with corruption.

Corrupt? Cricket? "I say old boy, perchance might I have a slight prick of yon steriods? Ah, some right good shit, this. Alright, pip-pip, let us play some cricket!"

Cricket is very corrupt. I would rate it the most corrupt major sport in the world. Just in the last decade you had the Soputh Africa captain banned for match fixing, and then a few years later he mysteriously dies in a bizarre plane accident, the Pakistan coach "dies" from choking right after his team lost a major world cup game (and the jamican pathologist still maintains he was murdered). Wasn't a recent Indian captain banned for match fixing as well? I remember reading a story about how when the New Zealand captain was touring India with his team a few years ago, he was constantly approached by people offering him large wads of money for "team selection" for their "Newspaper article". He suspect they were part of gambling rings.

Cricket is nothing like that in the modern day. It's dominated by India (although Australia are the best team)
