Does an iso file loose quality from it's original file?

A friend was telling me that when you have an iso cd, it's not the same as the original cd. in other words, the iso looses some of the actual file's quality. For example, when you have an iso file of a game, it's not the same as the real game.

is it true?

That may be true if the game has copy protection (such as SafeDisc v2) and the copy was not made in RAW DAO mode, but ISOs of other valid data are the exact same, bit-for-bit as the original content.
