Does anyone here use a Zalman cnps 7000 alcu or similar series heatsink/fan on MSI neo 2 lsr?Or does anyone know if it will fit?as you can see the northbridge fan on the pic seems a little too close to the socket there. I have my choice narrowed down to two mobos the one linked above from MSI and an abit IS7. However, I heard that the northbridge fan on the Abit IC7 which looks like the same one found on theIS7 is quite a bit loud, and I'm trying to build my system as quiet as it can run. Thanks

Stay away from MSI,that board is total crap.

Got for Asus or Abit & you'll be much much happier.

Just a friendly warning. :)

Is the Fan on in the pics above for the ABIT IC and IS 7's the revised ones that don't make that much noise as the old version? I have no clue which fan is which... THG review labeled them both the new versions:confused:

I bought the Asus P4C800 and installed it tonight, and I ordered a Zalman 7k as well but it hasn't arrived. I didn't think to ask whether or not it will fit. I certainly hope it will. One thing that I will say is that hyperthreading is neat. It's certainly noticeable when you are doing several things at once. I like the Asus BIOS as well.

I'm working on as quiet a system as possible too and I like the fact that the P4C800 doesn't have a chipset fan.

Layout, and more particularly clearances was one of the reasons I eschewed Abit this round and went with Gigabyte.

:confused: I've got the IC7-G and the 7000AlCu running with no clearance problems whatsoever.

Prolly not with a ZM80A-HP though, and you certainly can't install RAM without removing the card.

Depends on the height of the NB HS since there is no clearance betwixt it and the AGP.
