Does a Intel 800 fsb CPU work in a 1066 fsb MB?

dude u shouldnt look for a mother board by its fsb(unless ur overclocking like wid a 1333 cpu to a 1600 )
try to look for the chip set u knw consult the manufacturers website
to know which bios version is needed for the cpu to work wid ur mobo
sometimes u need a good for nothing chip to boot into windows and flash the bios
as far as i know lower fsb is always supported by higher fsb boards

Not always.

The 800fsb e5200 is not supported on a lot of the older 1066fsb boards (first gen C2D boards).

OP: Get this Asus G31 board instead. Save yourself $10.

I just put together a system for someone, using the Gigabyte G31 board and an E5200. The BIOS came with BIOS F5, it supported the CPU out of the box. You should have no trouble with that combination. I didn't overclock the system, it was decided not to by the person I was building for. Too bad, I was looking forward to testing how well that combo overclocks.
