the prob is that my school is a community college and this gpa is the result of 2 yrs. i am planning to transfer to another school and not too much optimistic with this gpa (cuz a couple friends of mine got 4.0, make me feel so puny tiny)

if you're asking this question you're either
a) too stupid to ever get a 3.5, so don't worry about it
b) bragging
either way, i think you're a jackass

if you went to an IVY league school where they add on an extra point for you, then a 3.5 is about the equivalent of a 2.5-- normal by all standards for an engineer.

The 5.0 scale they use at MIT and supposedly over 70% of grades administered at Harvard are A's.
