I have a dvd drive and the playback is rather choppy. Ive heard that a decoder card makes a significant difference is this true? Also: I have a celeron 500 and a diamond viper v770.
On your system it might, decoder cards are generally used for people with slower systems who want better DVD playback. I have one in my P3 500, V770 Viper and playback is great.
It will probably make DVD playback much better. The main advantage of hardware DVD decoders in today's market of DVD capable video chipsets is the TV out & the audio out. Especially if you run Windows 2000.
