I tried to set up my browser to use a proxy server and it doesn't work. I can still see my ISP IP address.

If it does work, I shouldn't see my IP address, right?

Any recommendations?

Neo: using this:

go.becker.edu:8080

I appear to have been able to do it, atleast i went to some IP finder sites and they said they "do not use robots to access this site" so i am assuming my ip was not found. however, there are a couple of sites that i cant visit by using this proxy. i dont know if youll have similar luck.
