The Radeon 9700 pro is 8x agp... and I read here that Shuttle's SS51 mini case supports 4x agp.. will it still work? Also at www.ati.com I read in the faqs that the Radeon 9700 pro requires an additional power connection.. one from the power supply to the video card.. will the SS51's 200w power supply be able to handle the radeon 9700 pro's power requirements? i mean.. if the power supply can handle a p4 2.53ghz and a ti4600.. it should be able to handle a radeon 9700 pro right?

Yes , the 8x agp is backwards compatible with 4x. Not sure about the power issues, but i saw that mini case, its sweet.

I know I saw somewhere a demo SS51 system running a P4 CPU with a Radeon 9700 (I think it was @ QuakeCon) so yes it should, despite the insane power requirements.

Yes, the Radeon 9700 will work fine inside the SS51. The link is to a photo I took of the demo SS51 in the ATI booth. It ran just fine the entire time either sitting in the DX9 demos, or running 3d Mark.

I also have one in my SS51, loaded with a WD 12gb SE drive, plus a Plextor Burner/DVD. Works great.

(Just posting the same response here to help clarify this situation. The SS51 is an awesome LAN party machine, and the upcomming AMD based Shuttle should also be a killer system)

There is some discussion about it on the SFF forums @ Viahardware.com.

But since the NForce2 Shuttle system hasn't been officially announced, it's a bit sketchy right now. I did see one in person at Quakecon, it looks to be as nice as the SS51, plus a few NForce benefits (Dual channel DDR, onboard dual VGA, and 8X AGP)
