Not all of them. If it's using the standard Socket 939 mounting system, then yes it will. Otherwise, you may have some issues.

If the aftermarket heatsink uses the same clips as a Socket 939 stock heatsink (i.e. you don't have to install a special bracket to use it), then yes, it will work. If you need a special mounting bracket, then it must be advertised as AM2 compatible, or else it's likely not included.

No..... it will not. Hence why it is called 939. If it worked on am2, it would be called AM2. :)

In my experience it will work. I used the stock HSF from 3700+ San diego (939) on my new 3600+ X2 Brisbane (AM2) until a Freezer 64 Pro arrived. If the 939 HSF you're planning to use has a standard 1 or 3 hole mounting clip, it will work.

As a side note the stock 3700+ HSF (all aluminum) allowed me to overclock the Brisbane to 2.8ghz without going over 45°C.

Stock K8 heatsinks WILL work. It has one clip in the middle and will be perfectly fine.

yes; you know those 3 notches on either side of the cpu socket that keep the heatsink down on your 939 motherboard? on am2, instead of 3 on each side, there's 1; they removed the outside 2 on each side and left the middle ones. so you end up with 1 notch on each side of the am2 processor in the same spot where the middle notches were on 939.
