Does 32bit Linux not work on A64s?

Because I have both a 32bit Mepis and ubuntu and both of them wont install on my machine.

No it should work. 32bit items work find with the AMD64 proccessor.

I think in this cause it's much more likely to be your motherboard then your cpu, but that's just a guess. I have no information to go off of other then that.

No, it works fine.

I have been running 32-bit Linuxes on my Athlon 64 just fine, including Debian, SUSE, Fedora, and Mandriva.

Will Mepis even boot up? It works as a livecd so it should start up. Is there an error message we should be aware of?

None of them worked. I'm pretty sure its my Motherboard. at this point because there has always been problems with it. first it was never able to load XP with SP1 on it and it cannot overclock at all. Sometimes after I try overclocking and a bring it back to stock speeds it wont boot up.

I have ran ubuntu, gentoo, suse, fc4, etc on my machine in both 32 and 64 bit. I have a dfi ultra-D board.

Ran 32bit Ubuntu and now running FC4 on my AMD 64 without a hitch so far.

I just wanted to point out that ended up with gentoo 64bit, I've only got 1 32bit app that I can think of, mplayer. Other then that I'm running all 64bit.

Does it install if you downclock your system back to stock speeds? My first guess is that your overclock may be causing some errors.
