Does 2 inches more really make a that big of a difference?

There's always a trade-off:

You definitely get the look with +2, and you can fit tighter rubber.

But the extra unsprung weight can really really kill ya. 😉

Is there anything you can't make better with a car anaology?

But he should be.

If you're already into 50-series tires or so, you aren't going to gain that much from bigger rims, especially without adding the suspension to handle the rubber.

On most vehicles, without extensive modification, anything over +1 from stock is largely for appearance. And a lot of manufacturers have started selling what is essentially +1 from the factory, so in a lot of cases you would get just as much from better tires as from new wheels and tires.

Did for me, though I'm now considering dual LCDs, as low as 17 apiece. Widescreen movies suck even on the 19.

Not always common knoweledge, but for they say for those overweight, you gain around 1/4 inch for every 15 pounds you loss (the 'fat pad' right above it hides quite a bit of lenght)

Just an extra incentive for those porkers out there to hit the gym!
