[awww moment] i just had a doe trot across my backyard, and with 6" of snow on the ground it was so beautiful. [/awww moment]

do you get to see wild life close up like that where you live?

you bet. I had a 6 point buck trot across the road in front of me and he was inches from becoming venison.
It wasn't quite as poetic as your scene I imagine

Deer, fox squirrels, gray squirrels, coyotes, black bears, possums (not enough respect to call them opossums), groundhogs, raccoons, turkeys, and a whole bunch of other critters run through here regularly.
Our house is situated such that the animals avoid our yard and gardens, but travel right behind us. You can see deer screaming across the field any time of day. When they get to the back side of the hill they stop and hang out.
If you walked out to the back of our yard and looked down to the bottom of the hill right now, there's a 9/10 chance you'll see deer or turkeys working the corn field.
There's a 10/10 chance you'll see guineas, ducks, chickens, and a big goose on the way. :)

We had a deer in our back yard a few months ago. Other than that, we have a lot of small animals like squirrels, rabbits, skunks and birds. Lately we've had an owl and a hawk hanging around in the trees.

The pics below show what we had in our yard about 3 years ago. Their mother had gotten killed in the field behind our house, so I caught them with a live trap, then took them to a local man who rehabilitates wildlife:

because that's how it was sung in the movie?

Remember when she says "fa, a long long way to runnnnnnnnnnnnnn"

she doesn't say "far, a long long way to runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn"
