IIRC, Chrysler's touch screen system is one of the better ones.

Most reviewers say it's the best in the business. All I know is I've never had an issue with the 8.4 Uconnect in my Charger and it is very easy to use, super fast and responsive and never, ever has me annoyed. The key is the instant response when you touch buttons, etc. Never bogs down or acts weird.

I have tons of experience with the current gen 8.4AN and it's pretty buggy. Every update it gets better though. We have seen it crash a few times, have the rear camera go blue, have the rear camera stutter randomly, have the seats turn themselves off. But this was one of the first 8.4ANs available with an early version of the OS. I think I've installed 4 updates so far, so they are still developing it which is nice.

Mine is a 2012 not sure of the revision but they did update it at least once over the past year or so when I came in for routine maintenance. I think there were a couple quirks very early on when I first got the car but there was a visit early on when they updated the transmission software and the UConnect and everything has been spot-on since then. It even plays nice with bluetooth and my iphone and seems to be issue-free when it comes to switching between my wife's phone and mine when we're both in the car together.

BTW, those Chrysler units can be rebooted manually if they act up.

Press Mute + Browse/Enter, release keys when radio shuts down (black screen).

Meh, They are ok looking. nothing special IMO. Definitely not a tribute to darts of old.
