DoD getting sued over Sutherland Springs shooter.

Interesting, and then the idiot reporter had to tell a couple lies just to show her leftist "credentials". Which is why the OP should have taken the time to find a more credible and factual story. One like this instead of the douche that wrote the other one. Where do you get that drivel from anyways? Shareblue? All news is opinion now.

"Preventing violent criminals from owning guns would require taking on the National Rifle Association — something neither the GOP-controlled Congress nor the White House has shown any interest in doing.

And because of the Republicans’ unwillingness to put people’s lives over the NRA’s demands, Americans will continue to suffer at the hands of people who never should have had access to guns in the first place."

Seems pretty accurate to me. The NRA is all about promoting gun sales on behalf of its industry members. Politically, the NRA is basically a Republican PAC.

That's because you're a leftist. The NRA supports getting guns out of the hands of violent criminals and always has. It has also supported pro-gun Democrats in the past over anti-gun Republicans. They are a single issue group, not a single party group.

I think the original article crosses the boundaries on what it is reporting. I am all for holding DoD accountable to US Law here, as evidence shows they are failing hugely in this duty.

Separately, the NRA is clearly functioning in opposition to greater background checks at this moment in time. And, while they are a separate and theoretically non-partisan entity than the Republican party, if you wish to assert that they function in this way, name for me a major political office Republican who didn't align themselves with the NRA and I'll consider the possibility that the NRA doesn't have the Republican party by the balls.

I also support the DOD actually doing their jobs. I linked a story about the NRA supporting Democrats over Republicans. The reason most republicans are more vocal about gun rights is that their voters demand it, not for the limited support the NRA gives.

If you want to take it a few notches further on big money...
https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/summary.php?id=D000000082

Independent Expenditures: $52,582,309
For Democrats: $265
Against Democrats: $37,010,516
For Republicans: $17,385,437
Against Republicans: $2,281

So yeah, they are far more heavily invested in opposition campaigns.
It's tough for the NRA to support an anti-gun Democrat. I'm sure you support abortion lobby's giving equal donations to anti-abortion Republicans as they do to pro-abortion Democrats? Right? Oh wait, that would be stupid. It's a LOBBY.
