Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be moving fast. How big is it now? It's a little hard to tell scale in the picture.

I will circle it with a marker and check it later. My wife has some Cipro, wonder if I should take it. The last time I took an antibiotic(Bactrim) I had severe vomiting and diarrhea. It was about the most miserable experience of my life

You shouldn't need an oral antibiotic. Wash it well with soap and water, disinfect the surface with isopropanol, and keep neosporin or bacitracin on it. Unless it's MRSA (unlikely unless you got the infection in a hospital), that should take care of it in time.

I had something similar and took care of it myself.

Head to CVS/Walgreens or someplace similar and get some drawing salve. The brand I got was Prid. The main ingredient just needs to be Ichthammol.

You spread it on the spot and cover it with gauze and tape. It draw all the crap out of it.

I did that for 2 days changing gauze every 12 hours and it was pretty much cleared up without causing me any pain. It also offers instant relief to any type of discomfort it may be causing.

If it gets larger or becomes painful the doc is the only one who can help though.

Absolutely no way to know if it's staph from a pic like that. There are lab tests for that.

Don't let MRSA go untreated. It won't go away on its own and will only get worse.

I didn't get my MRSA from the hospital

I got it when I itched a mosquito bite(s) (since I got it 5 times, probably more) then it got infected, then I cleaned it, then it kept getting bigger then yeah

MRSA is commonly acquired via insect bites. There are some people that it occurs naturally on their skin, making insects carriers.

Yay for me!

(I get bitten by mosquitoes a lot)

Maybe you're one of the folks that has it on your skin? Everybody has staph on their skin which is why you should thoroughly clean and take care of any break in the skin as soon as possible. Not everybody has the MRSA strain. You could ask your doctor next time and maybe they can do a culture.

Is it warm to the touch or do you have any fever at all? If so, go get it checked out. Any pus?

Don't take home antibiotics. Cipro wouldn't be too much help and it'll further any future antibiotic resistance. Go see a doctor, preferably your primary care doctor.

Otherwise I'd hit up an actual ER for antibiotics. Don't goto an urgent care, many of those are staffed by flaming fucking idiots.

I'm an ER nurse, and that is pretty much to the point of needing antibiotics.
