Engineers aren't so hot either. :)

When are the states going to start really enforcing the traffic laws?

It's a joke out there now....

EDIT: Police officers are way down in ranking but I doubt the validity of their numbers. My father was a cop and he never got a ticket. :) Gee, imagine that....

I resent the publication of data implying doctors are bad drivers; especially since that table excludes unlicensed immigrants, elderly people over 100, and infants.

Homemakers have a low accident rate because they don't have to drive to work everyday (duh). Also, most blue collar jobs tend to be very close to home (short commute).

hahaha..
my daughter - God Bless her...
first car accident - ran into her friend's car in a parking lot, head-on.....she was "looking" for her friend at the time (but apparently not out the front window)
second car accident - ran into her mother's car in the garage parked.
third accident - the DAY she got "ungrounded" for having accident #2 - backed out of the garage into a car parked in the driveway....she just came right back in the house and handed me the car keys...

she's better now (only speeding and parking tickets now, no accidents..."I'm blessed")
now my son just turned 16, and he keeps telling me "you know dad, i'm a really good driver....i'm afraid to find out what he means by that...
i try to tell him that a really good driver is one that doesn't make dad's insurance payments go up...and that nothing else counts as "good"

I resent the publication of data implying doctors are bad drivers
Once again, BBD puts me in the awkward position of agreeing with him....d@mn you BBD!

BBD: Down here in Florida EVERYONE is over 100 and they all drive Red Ferraris and keep the right turn signal on when in the left lane and fall asleep at traffic lights. But the latter is your fault because you can't get their meds right. Or, something like that. :)

I have a judge living behind me, by the way. He and his neighbor the state trooper take turns peeling rubber out of their cul de sac. :) Too bad he isn't a traffic judge. I could give the local tv stations a sweet story. :)

Heart:

I have two boys who are a few years older and, oh, GOD, you would not believe the problems. I bought the oldest one a nice used Buick and one night, drunk as a sailor on shore leave, the car caught fire at an intersection and he was sitting in it laughing when the police came and dragged him out. :) And he's NEVER been on P and N, I swear. Must be his mother's genes. :)

I figure I only have to live through about 2 more years of really bad driving.

I guess I'm working in reverse. I just got done with three years in the student category without any accidents and then less than one month after being admitted to the bar I did a little more than $3000 worth of damage to my car. Stay off the roads if I ever take up farming.
