Doctor Who to start on 11 Apr 2009

Since it's a series of specials, it's not really "starting". It's a series of 4 specials, I think this is the only one until Christmas, and then 2 more in 2010 before Season 5 starts.

Still, I'm glad something is finally airing. The schedule is completely neurotic; Doctor Who isn't having a real season, and Torchwood's "abridged" season went to heck when they couldn't get Mickey or Martha, and had to push it back to the summer. I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do between now and the fall for my sci-fi fix.🙁

🙁 Now I want a drink . . .

Yeah I thought the same thing. It's just specials, a new season hasn't started. I wanted more from the last christmas episode too.

Good news everyone!

"The next three Specials will be shown in the second half of the year," executive producer Russell T Davies tells DWM. "It was said, in some interviews, that all three would air around Christmas time, but plans have changed since then - and don't worry, the plans were changed long before the Shooting Scripts were issued and before filming even began! Obviously, we can't give away exact dates yet, except to say that you should be seeing Episode 4.16 before the Christmas period. So there's not quite so long to wait!"

Haven't researched too many details as yet though. Planet Gallifrey isn't on my list of regular Internet haunts.

You mean its showing in the UK not the US.

I checked TV.com the other day to find out when the next episode of Doctor Who will air. Very excited! I wonder who the new Doctor will be.

Russell T Davis said on breakfast tv this morning that there will be one episode in november, then the final 2 around xmas. Bernard Cribbins (who plays donna's granddad) is the doctor's companion in the november episode. I've also seen shots showing John Simms is back as the master for the final 2 episodes

I only saw the 1st and 2nd season of the new Dr Who.
I like Christopher Eccleston as Dr Who than David Tennant.

Eccleston was simply amazing as Doctor Who. I fell in love with the first season, mostly cause of him and his antics. Tenant is pretty good, tries to mimic Eccleston in some ways, but not quite the same. Still not bad. I half-watched season 2 (didn't pay full attention), and half-watched some of seasons 3 and 4.

Who's the new companion going to be anyways? Rose is gone, Rose's replacement is gone, and the one from the Christmas special just went home.

Forgot to add, the last Christmas special was really damn good.

Been trying to watch primeval to satiate my scifi fix. Haven't gotten hooked yet.

I'll have to look if madmartha is up to speed.

It takes a while for Primeval to get going. Have you seen the twist at the start of the second season?

That had some really annoying characters. That scientist and that captain. Pretty good episode, though.

the girl in this episode is stunning

She played NBC's failed TV show Bionic Woman. Her name's Michelle Ryan. I hope she becomes the new Doctor's companion. I love eye candy.
