Hopefully the new companion won't be as annoying as she was in The Runaway Bride episode.

Bump because there are more assistants this season.
Rose and the other one are both back, as well as the new one who will be appearing.

HDNET really needs to pick up this show like they did Torchwood. That show looks amazing in HD.

And how can Rose come back? Isn't she in another universe or something?

It's just what they said on the radio, I don't know how it's happening.
Apparently "the first episode sets everything up" for a big finish in episode 13.

Doctor Who isn't filmed in HD, it's still filmed in SD PAL. I'm not entirely sure why this is, but I'd imagine it'll finally switch to HD after the 2009 hiatus.

BigJ: There are more people that saw the premiere, you'll want to check the weekly scifi TV thread that Zim puts up

Catherine Tate is really irritating. Astrid (Kylie Minogue) from the '07 Xmas special would've been a really good companion, IMO.

Ahh well, still looking forward to the new series.. I'm off to watch 4x01.

I never really got back into Doctor Who when it came back, a few years ago. Never really hooked me for some reason.

I enjoyed the episode.

I'm glad I didn't read this thread prior to watching it as it was a pleasant surprise to see Rose. :D

I thought this was to be the last season of Dr Who.

Sci Fi channel will start this new series on Friday 25th April - so the delay isn't too bad.
On Friday 18th they will run the Christmas special Voyage of the Damned.
