Doctor Strange

Dr. Strange was always kind of trippy

Especially with the 60s era comics having psychedelic representations of other dimensions

Bet the illustrator was on acid.

The trailer looks good. Another origin story. Maybe someday they will trust the audience to accept a hero without spending an entire first movie introducing them.

Marvel hasn't really misfired yet. I am sure it is coming, but they are about as sure a bet as you will get in Hollywood when launching a new character on the big screen.

See how bad BvS is? They introduced a bunch of people/hero without background story and it bit them in the a..

I hope they make it a bit more dark. I like the actress who plays the bald woman. She played the angel in Constantine. So far, all movies i have seen with her in it, are good movies. And i think Benedict Cumberbatch would play a good Dr Strange.

I don't think that's what killed BvS. Pretty much everyone already knows Batman and Superman's origins already. Dr. Strange in comparison is a little more obscure.

He meant all of the other characters tossed into the pot without origins. Luthor (new for this franchise) ditto WW, Doomsday, whoever else? (I still haven't seen it)

Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Fanboys knew who they were. Normal people probably didn't.

I don't understand what Doctor Strange is... Rachel McAdams is the only reason I'd give it a look.

Basically, sorcery.

I was never a fan, as I found the comics snooze worthy because I have zero interest in the subject matter. But, he is integral to the infinity war, so let us hope they do this right. Judging by the fx, the visuals can make it exciting. The comic panels always sucked for conveying mystical, magical, forces at work.

He's "the master of the mystical arts." basically: multiple dimensions and the demon world and crazy fucked up shit that is hidden behind the normal, perceived reality. He was the only human character that could operate on the same level as someone like Silver Surfer or Thanos, or Adam Warlock.

I never got his shtick, either, only tangentially through his association with Surfer or Thanos stories.

Tilda Swinton has great roles.

Okay, I watched the trailer... so it's Inception + Batman Begins + The Last Airbender?

Saw Rachel McAdams though. Pretty good cast... Tilda Swinton, Benedict, and Chiwetel. Has the Christopher Nolan feel to it.

Still Marvel.

It's a Marvel comic book creation but it is not under the control of the Marvel movie studio owned by Disney

Sure it can be seen as a way of splitting hairs but all the movies from Marvel Studios at Disney have been generally well received.

While movies from other studios that feature Marvel comic characters but made without the involvement of Marvel Studios/Disney have not always been well received.

Some fans may not get the distinction but it's there.

The thing about Dr. Strange is that he is way OP. Plus he ends up playing the deus ex machina far too often.

Didn't they offer him a deal during Civil War because he was too powerful to push around into registering for the stupid hero law or whatever?
